We are very grateful to Wadebridge Rotary Club for choosing us as the Headline Charity and main  beneficiary of the 2017 Annual Wheels event held on Sunday 16th July 2017. Our CEO, Dr Maureen Newman,  attended the Wadebridge Rotary meeting on 24th August where she was presented with a generous cheque for £5,000. In addition to this amount MIND Restormel were the recipient of the Exhibitors’ JustGiving pledges along with funds from collecting buckets on the day – a total of £1,600. Maureen explained Restormel Mind helps adults with mental health problems to improve their wellbeing and self-esteem, and increase their confidence. It helps people to return to paid employment or volunteering when appropriate. It offers a range of services in Bodmin, St Austell and Newquay to help people to improve their sense of wellbeing. It is open to anyone with mental health problems, whether with a formal diagnosis or not.
The donation is being used to support our  “Soil to Soup” horticultural project where members can create their own space in a garden in Bodmin, growing flowers or vegetables, either on their own or sharing with others. We have been buying tools, pond liner, manure, plants and seeds.
Soil to Soup members are thrilled to hear that we are able to continue to provide this much needed project as a result of the donation.
Members of the Wheels committee Nigel Davey and Tim Lunt, and the president, Kevin Smith, presented a cheque to Dr Newman.
